What's New

Dear HKOS members and friends,

Announcement of Exemption under Section 88

We are pleased to announce that Hong Kong Obesity Society (HKOS) has been granted as a charitable organization for tax exemption under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance (Cap. 112) with effective from 23 April 2021. Donation of HK$100 or above to HKOS is tax deductible with an official receipt.

HKOS is a professional society consisting of a group of medical professionals who are looking after the welfare benefits of people with obesity.  We are committed to providing healthcare professional education and training in all aspects of obesity including pathophysiology, epidemiology, comorbidities (e.g. diabetes), lifestyle management, pharmacotherapies and surgery.  A key objective is to raise public awareness of obesity in Hong Kong.

We have achieved much over the past few years. We have hosted and sponsored well-attended regular events annually. These include the scientific meeting for healthcare professions, and seminars for patients, their carers, and the general public. We have also organized community educational campaign entitled “GoGoGo” to encourage physical activities among people seeking to control their body weight.

To foster the development of HKOS and help more people with obesity, we will need your generous and continuous support! If you plan to make a donation, please issue a cheque payable to “Hong Kong Obesity Society Limited” and send to our Secretariat office : Unit 3C, Worldwide Centre, 123 Tung Chau Street, KLN.

Look forward to hearing from you!

Yours sincerely,

Dr Tsui Tsun Miu

President
